The shopping center that used to house Ninfa's on Johnston St. (headed towards Ambassador from Camellia) is undergoing a major facelift. It looks like Ninfa's has closed for good - and will be replaced with a new Japanese hibachi restaurant named Hunami. I spoke to the man who says he will run the restaurant. There was quite a language barrier, but he did tell me he's run Japanese restaurants in other cities - and came to Lafayette after hearing the good word from friends. He hopes to have the restaurant in the next few months.
No word on what will take the other spaces in the shopping center. It looks like the other tenants have moved out. The shopping center's owner took out a $100,000 permit to reconstruct the building's facade.
Hey Louis-
ReplyDeleteI'd like to discuss the revitalization effort that is happening in the Mills/Hopkins Addition (Pierce, Madison, Lafayette St. etc) Please feel free to email me and we can discuss :)
